On 9 October second stage of the Selection tour of National Folklore Festival was held at the Gori Centre of Culture with the participation of traditional church’ choirs, folk ensembles and individual performers, folk poets, choreographic ensembles, masters of fine and applied arts.

. The State Folklore Centre holds the festival with the support of the Georgian Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection, Georgian Government and local city municipalities.

Selection rounds have already been held in Kakheti, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti, Samtskhe-Javakheti and Mtskheta- Mtianeti; here all branches of folklore were diversely represented by church’ choirs, folk ensembles and individual performers, folk poets, choreographic ensembles, masters of fine and applied arts.

Second stage selection rounds of National Folklore Festival will be held:

9 October– Gori – Shida Kartli;

20 October– Ozurgeti – Guria;

21-22 October – Batumi – Achara;

26-27 October – Rustavi – Kvemo Kartli;

29-30 October – Kutaisi – Imereti;

7-8 November – Tbilisi.
