Imereti regional selection round of National Folklore Festival with the participation of church choirs and folk ensembles (33); folk poets (25); choreographic ensembles (9), masters of fine and applied arts (65) will take place at Meliton Balanchivadze Kutaisi State Opera and Ballet Theatre on 29-30 October.

Selection rounds have already been held in Kakheti, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti; Samtskhe-Javakheti; Mtskheta- Mtianeti, Shida Kartli; Guria; Achara and Kvemo Kartli; here all branches of folklore were diversely represented.

First stage of the National Folklore Festival will soon end. The selection tour for Tbilisi will be held on 7-8 November.

The State Folklore Centre holds the Festival with the support of the Georgian Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection, Georgian Government, local city municipalities and Tbilisi City Hall.
