Guria regional selection round of the National Folklore Festival was held at Alexandre Tsutsunava Ozurgeti Drama Theatre on 20 October with the participation of church’ choirs and folk ensembles (25); folk poets (12); masters of fine and applied arts (62).

Selection rounds have already been held in Kakheti, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Mtskheta- Mtianeti and Shida Kartli; here all branches of folklore were diversely represented.

The Festival is held by the State Folklore centre with the support of the Georgian Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection, Georgian Government and local city municipalities.
