On 24 November Minister of Culture and Monument Protection Mikheil Giorgadze visited the State Folklore Centre, inspected its infrastructure – the building, exhibition and conference halls.
Giorgi Donadze - Executive Director of the State Folklore Centre briefly talked about the Centre’s activities and future plans, particularly focusing on two chief priorities: necessity of opening the Centre’s branches and choir master’s schools in various regions of Georgia; their significance in safeguarding and revival of Georgian folklore, and also about holding the 2015-2016 Folklore Inspection Festival.
Minister Giorgadze promised support and assistance in the realization of the priorities; he thanked the Centre’s employees for their tireless and devoted work, encouraged them for new ideas, more activity in order to attract additional resources. He also noted that a Training Centre will be created at the Ministry of Culture to assist the institutions and organizations subordinated to the Ministry in the elaboration and realization of effective management; this will contribute to successful collaboration with governmental and non-Governmental organizations, finding finances and realization of important projects.
Giorgi Donadze thanked the Minister for visiting the Centre and active support.
