On 28 November ” in the village of Makvaneti, Minister of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia  – Mikheil Giorgadze awarded Guri Sikharulidze – a master of Gurian song and one of the best performers of all times with highest reward ”Patriarch of Art for his contribution to the development of Georgian art.  The elder singer is also the first National Folklore Prize-winner and a holder of the “Order of Honour”. In 2013 the Fund “Kartuli Galoba” nominated him honorary title “A Beneficent of Folk Song”. Guri Sikharulidze was 85 on November 23. The event was attended by Giorgi Donadze – Executive Director of the State Folklore centre, Gia Salukvadze – Governor of Guria, and Merab Chanuqvadze – Head of Ozurgeti city administration.
