Opening of the 2015-2016 National Folklore Festival of Georgia will be  held at Telavi Drama Theatre on 4 June, among the concert participants were: “Georgian National Ballet - Sukhishvilebi”, “Rustavi”. “Erisioni”, “Basiani”, “Tsinandali”, Eter Tataraidze – a poet and folklorist.

The State Folklore Centre helds “The National Folklore Festival 2015-2016” with support of the Georgian Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection.

Presented at the Festival will be: folk song and dance;  instrumental music; traditional church chant; oral folklore; fine and applied arts; the folklore of all ethnicities and ethnic groups of Georgia.

First stage selection rounds of National Folklore Festival will be held:

5-7 June  - Kakheti, Telavi

14-17 June - Samegrelo-Zemo svaneti

30 June, 2 July - Ratcha-leTchkhumi, kvemo Svaneti. Ambrolauri

8-10 July - Samtskhe Javakheti, Akhaltsikhe

13-15 July - Mtsketa-mtianeti, Dusheti
