Exhibition of Georgian Avant-garde Artists

Gallery of the State Folklore Centre will host the exhibition – Art 8+7.

Avant-garde movement started in Art, including painting in the early 1900s. At the time Paris was the Mecca of painting. Artists from all over the world, as well as from Georgia (Lado Gudiashvili, Elene Akhvlediani,  Ketevan Maghalashvili, Davit Kakabadze, Shalva Kikodze…), went there to study painting.
This exhibition is a kind of echo of historical changes and evolution in painting. The group exposition unites various generation artists: elder artists and a small group of young ones who make their presence felt in contemporary Georgian avant-garde painting.
The exhibits are distinguished in high artistic value and diversity, professionalism and stylistic peculiarities.

The exhibition opens on 8 December at 17:00

Closes on 15 December.
