Second award ceremony of the “Kartuli Galoba” Foundation and concert was held at Rustaveli theatre on 19 May.
The event was supported by the State Folklore Centre.
Figures of Georgian culture were awarded in various nominations: Lela Tataraidze for her contribution to Georgian (Tushetian) folk song; Lia Salaqaia – for her contribution to the popularization of Georgian chant, Gomar Sikharulidze – for his particular contribution to the revival and popularization of Georgian folk song; Gela Gugava – for his contribution to the revival and popularization of Georgian (Svan) song; ensemble Kviria (new generation) – for its contribution to Georgian (Svan) song; Rezo Chokhonelidze –a renowned choreographer – for his particular contribution to the popularization of Georgian folk dance.
Among the concert participants were: Lela Tataraidze and ensemble Kesane; ensembles Kviria, Lagusheda, Erisioni; Holy Trinity Cathedral Church choir.
