A Branch of the State Folklore Centre in Gori

On 3 April the State Folklore Centre opened a branch in Gori.
Giorgi Donadze – Executive Director of the Centre and Zurab Jirkvelishvili – Mayor of Gori, signed mutual Memorandum, which defines duties and responsibilities of the sides.
Among the guests of the event were: specialists of the State Folklore centre, local government officials and culture figures.

On the initiative of Prime Minister and with the support of the Ministry of Culture the State Folklore Centre will successively open the Centre’s branches in all regional municipal centers and self-governing cities.
On the first stage schools of Georgian folk song, traditional chant and choreography are being opened, offering free education to all the interested.

The Project is aimed for equal development and revival of all folklore branches, seeking for, safeguarding and popularization of unique Georgian song and traditional chant.
In the realization of this significant project the State Folklore centre is supported by regional government officials.
Among the participants of the concert dedicated to the event were folk ensembles: Gori, Folkloris sardapi, male choir under Mikheil Mtsuravishvili’s direction, and Vano Muradeli Music School choir.
