A Branch of the State Folklore Centre and Choir Master’s School in Tetritsqaro

On 13 February a Branch of the State Folklore Centre and Choir Master’s School opened in Tetritsqaro. Mutual Memorandum was signed by Giorgi Donadze – Executive Director of the Centre and Besik Tsiklauri – Head of Tetri tsqaro Municipality; the Tetritsqaro branch of the Centre will support equal development and revival of all folklore branches, seeking for, safeguarding and popularization of unique Georgian songs and traditional chants. Students of Choir Mater’s Schools will study all branches of Georgian folklore (including Georgian folk song and traditional chant) according to the Centre’s educational program specially prepared for these schools; upon graduation successful students will continue studies at Giorgi Mtatsmindeli High School for Chant. Specialists of the Folklore Centre, local culture figures and government officials attended the festive event held at Tetritsqaro House of Culture, folk ensembles Lagusheda and Gudarekhi perfomed Georgian folk songs at the concert.
