7th International Symposium on Traditional Polyphony

On 22-26 September the 7th International Symposium on Traditional Polyphony will be held at Tbilisi State Conservatoire under the patronage of the President of Georgia, the State Folklore Centre – an official partner and one-of the organizers of the Symposium provided selection of folk groups and ensembles of different styles and performance manner from various parts of Georgia and their transportation to Tbilisi to perform at daily, Opening and Closing concerts.

The State Folklore centre also organizes Gala concerts and selects folk collectives for the performance as part of the Symposium’s cultural program in Gori and Upklistsikhe. Georgian and foreign scholars will listen to several folk groups and children’s collectives at Queen Tamar Hall in ancient cave city.
